A Gift To My Friends

Personal Recommendation

There was never any reason for me to mention this, until now, and what I am about to do has never been done prior to this date, on my site. In 1957, while in the USMC, I suffered a laceration of the cornea in my left eye. I was given medication for several days and told that it was OK. Well, they were wrong, the opening never healed and over several years, it developed an infection that recurred with troublesome regularity, until I was diagnosed as legally blind in my left eye. I dealt with it and took the medication that the Veterans Medical Hospital gave me for several years. Then, on one visit, a new doctor examined me and said that the cornea was deteriorating and suggested that I accept a transplant. The Doctor is named Marc Dinowitz, MD and he did the transplant. Since that day, I must have had my eye checked by twenty different VA doctors. Every one of them looked at it and exclaimed that this was the first time they had ever seen a perfect, yes, perfect transplant. My eye was examined today, since they keep a close watch on transplants and again this doctor had nothing but astonishment at the perfection of the transplant. He examined it thoroughly and then said he wanted the senior Ophthalmologist to see my eye. They had been thinking about adjusting the stitches to completely round out he eye, but this doctor found that there was a profound leap forward in my sight. The senior Doctor walked in, with the doctor who was examining me and I was pleased to realize it was the same one that operated on me. He examined me and the verdict is that I simply need one last adjustment to my eyeglass prescription to attain excellent sight. I was so grateful for what Doctor Dinowitz had accomplished, that I decided to let all of you out there, in the tri-State area, know that if they have to see a specialist, be it the victim of an accident or an infection, you will never see a better Doctor than this man. Below is his name and location. If you need help, this will be my gift to you, my personal recommendation”
